As part of our Kindness-heals Village ongoing efforts to make a difference in our community and beyond, we recently took on a meaningful and engaging project with the Progressive Turnout Project. Known as the largest voter contact organization in the country, Progressive Turnout Project is dedicated to mobilizing the Democratic Party and ensuring that every vote counts. What made this project so rewarding was that it was easy, fun, and perfect for groups.
Here’s how it works: after signing up, Progressive Turnout Project sends you a package with free postcards, a list of voters, and instructions that include proven messaging strategies to inspire Democratic voters to show up at the polls. All you need to do is write the cards, add the postage and mail the cards directly to voters across the country. The simplicity of this activity makes it ideal for everyone, whether you’re part of a youth group, a ladies' night event, or just want to make an impact from home.
We collaborated with amazing women in the neighborhood and the Interact Club, the experience was incredibly rewarding. Not only did we have fun working together, but we also felt a deep sense of responsibility in contributing to such an important cause. Each postcard we wrote had the potential to make a real difference in key elections, whether it be in crucial presidential swing states or competitive state legislative districts. Knowing that our efforts could help defend democracy and empower more people to vote was an empowering experience.

Getting involved in voter turnout efforts is a fantastic way to support our democracy, and we highly encourage other clubs, schools, and organizations to consider taking on this project. It’s easy, impactful, and a great way to unite people of all ages in a cause that affects us all. Plus, the more voices we help to amplify, the stronger our democracy becomes.
